The Mediterranean Journalist Award was launched in 2006 by the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation to promote dialogue between cultures and the International Federation of Journalists. It is the leading region-wide award for journalists reporting across cultures and on issues of cultural diversity.

This award gives recognition to exceptional journalistic work, helps to promote a better understanding of cultural diversity in the Euro-Mediterranean region and to bring to the fore the positive contribution of journalists towards balanced and informed coverage of cultural issues relating to the region.

This is the third time that Monaco has hosted the Award Ceremony, on the initiative of the Ministry of External Relations and the Monaco Mediterranean Foundation, the head of the Anna Lindh network in Monaco.
